I lived so much of my adult life according to others’ ideas of what I “should” do. You should go to college, you should get married, you should buy a house, you should have kids. I did all of those and trust me, I don’t regret it, but it left me in a position where my personal fulfillment took a backseat to everything else.
I always felt like there had to be something more. I knew that I was more than just a mom, but I set goals and never reached them because I didn’t want to inconvenience anyone around me by taking the steps necessary. I felt guilty for not spending every waking moment with my family, so time for personal development, or really taking care of myself, was out of the question. I stayed in a job that was unfulfilling because it was comfortable, and that was what I went to college for after all.
Unfortunately for me, it took an incredible loss to open my eyes to the fact that there is no time like the present. I decided to determine what I wanted out of life and make myself a priority. I want to help you do the same.
